The open road is calling, and you desperately want to answer.

Summer is nearly here and that means it is road trip season. For those of you who have never taken a road trip, you have no idea the sheer joy the open road brings. You really need to make the effort to plan and take a road trip.

For those who have experienced the magic of a road trip, you are probably planning one at this very moment. But whether you have been on a dozen road trips or are planning your first road trip, knowing what to pack is essential to a successful trip.

Clear Vision Auto Glass in New Jersey offers this handy list of what you need to pack for your road trip.

Wet Wipes

Laugh if you must, but you will regret not packing wet wipes for your road trip. It doesn’t matter how carefully you eat that peanut butter and jelly sandwich while you drive, at some point you will dribble sticky jelly down your arm.

And when you do, you will be grateful to have a wet wipe to make things all better. You know just how annoying it is having a glob of stickiness on yourself.

First Aid Kit

It is important that you keep a first aid kit in your vehicle on your road trip, you never know when it will come in very handy. Accidents happen and being on a road trip can take a toll on the body. Make sure your kit includes pain relief medication, headaches can crop up at any time.

A Tangible Map

There are people who swear by traditional maps and would never be caught dead relying on an app. Map apps are fine, just make sure you have a paper map with you at all times. You just never know when you might need it. There are too many instances in which an app is utterly useless, like when your smartphone dies or breaks when you drop it.

Jumper Cables

Jumper cables are quite inexpensive and will get you out of a jam should you find yourself with a dead battery. And never assume that you don’t have to pack jumper cables because somebody else always has a set with them.

Sunglasses

Obviously, you will be packing your sunglasses for your road trip. But you should be packing at least two pairs of sunglasses if not more. If you are the clumsy type, you probably break sunglasses on a regular basis, for you, a backup pair is necessary.

Snacks

You can save a lot of money by packing your snacks and bringing them with you rather than buying gas station food. Plus, bringing your snacks is better than eating, you know, gas station food.

Travel Pillow

You know that your passengers will be dozing off from time to time while on the road trip. And when they wake up they will have a very stiff and sore neck. Avoid this by bringing a travel pillow or two on your road trip.
